You're invited to join us October 23-25, 2018  ~ Trainings on 23rd & 24th, Stakeholders Meeting on the 25th

Day 1: Become NYS ELAP Certified as a NYS ELAP LABORATORY

This course takes the radon professional step-by-step course through creating a personalized Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program that, when completed, is accepted by NYS ELAP AND WILL ALLOW YOU TO BECOME NYS ELAP CERTIFIED AS A NYS ELAP LABORATORY.

This will allow you to set and download your own monitors and includes E-Perms.  No matter what kind of device (e.g. charcoal canisters, liquid scintillation, etc.) you are using, you should have a Quality Assurance and Quality Control plan in place.

This is an 8-hour course, with an added 4-hour CEU Credit  to write and complete your QA and QC program. This gives you a total of 12 CEUs when completed.  This class is also a great refresher if you want to update your QA and QC program.

Day 2: Inspecting Radon Systems and Marketing Radon to Real Estate Agents

Inspecting Radon Systems  - 4 CEU - Morning Session

This course takes you through a complete radon system inspection, from bottom to top and inside to outside, following current Standards. It includes labeling, pipe locations, securing of the pipe, electrical requirements, fan locations, required fire collars, required types of pipe, and more. You will view and identify properly installed systems and mitigation system nightmares.

Marketing Radon to Real Estate Agents - 4 CEU - Afternoon Session

Most homeowners test for radon only during a real estate transaction, so the real estate agent becomes a critical point of information and attitude formation for sellers and buyers. The agent is a key marketing target for the radon professional. Using marketing principles, this four-hour course gives radon professionals the framework and tools to market radon testing and mitigation as beneficial to the agent and client alike. The goal is to increase the demand for radon services and develop a positive attitude toward radon in the real estate community. The course handouts include a ready-made presentation to real estate agents.

October 24, 2018, Wednesday.  Breakfast at 7:30am, Course starts at 8:00am and goes to 5:00pm. Breakfast, Lunch and refreshsments at breaks are provided.

Cost of the Course: NYS AARST Members is $179.00 and Non-NYS AARST is $239.
